It seems that the Italians are not standing with their hands in the breast. If initially they honestly say that cars that have caught fire hadn’t manufacturing problems, but that is the fault of drivers, here now they are not so sure. Those of Ferrari started a survey to see if perhaps the Italy model 458 has any factory defects.
At the first time it was a single case. It was logical. There is no panic, it’s an accident, it happens. Soon came the second one. And the third one came. And then several others came. It is known that super cars have a tendency to burn, because they run at a much higher temperature. But this happened under the Mercedes Gullwing time, a car of the ’60s, in which you could not breathe because of the exhaust heat passing on a few inches of your ass.
But now we are in 2010, with half a leg in 2011 and they release cars for 2012. There are safety systems, fuel tanks must not break, have automatic shutoff valve, and even some cars have installations of fire fighting. So something dirty is happening to a car which goes on fire in 2010 for no apparent reason. And if that is even a Ferrari car, the newest Ferrari, on which Jeremy Clarkson says that is the best Ferrari ever made, there it’s something wrong. So the investigation started.
An official statement came from the factory in Maranello, says that Ferrari takes the customers very seriously, and the accidents even seriously. In addition, Ferrari starts making a survey for each model of 458 Italy which caught fire, to determine the cause for every single one.
Ferrari does not want to stain his image and does not want to lose any customers in a fire which involves a horse logo. But officials do not exclude any possibility that Ferrari owners have used 458 Italy in an inappropriate manner. But that will be officially announced after the survey results. We expect them! But until then, if you have any Ferrari, it does not hurt to invest a few dollars for a fire extinguisher!
