Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

As has been speculated for some time, the upcoming 2011 Hyundai Sonata hybrid will be the cheapest hybrid sedan when it goes on sale in January, undercutting both the Toyota Camry hybrid and the Ford Fusion hybrid.

Starting at $26,545 including a $750 destination charge, according to InsideLine, the Sonata hybrid will be the cheapest hybrid sedan, but maybe not for long.

With Hyundai’s Kia brand prepared to soon launch the Optima hybrid as well, the Sonata hybrid’s tenure as cheapest hybrid sedan will probably be short-lived, but at least Hyundai will be beating itself.

Hyundai vs Nissan

Nissan North America Inc. had bigger sales this year than their Asian rivals Hyundai-Kia, Honda and Toyota due to their aggressive marketing campaigns.

Last week, the vice president of Nissan Division, Al Castignetti, said that in July, the brand decided to add $100 million to their marketing budget, and that they will start seing results this month.
