Mercedes is developing an eco-minded supercar to be launched around 2015 and feature styling inspired by the radical BIOME concept. The BIOME was created for the Los Angeles Auto Show Design Challenge and measured 4040mm long, 2500mm wide, and 1200mm tall. More importantly, the concept was envisioned to weigh less than 1,000 pounds (454 kg).

    Mercedes Electric Vito Taxi

    The Mercedes Electric Vito Taxi won the award for the Most Economic & Environment Friendly Multi-Purpose Electric Vehicle at the Royal Automobile Club’s Future Car Challenge.

    The seven-seat electric car is powered by Valence batteries and is the result of a collaboration between Mercedes Benz, Valence and Zytek Automotive. They wanted to produce a pollution-free fleet car to be used as taxis at the Olympic games.

    The eVito finished the 57-mile run at the RAC Future Challenge with about 30% of its battery capacity remaining.

    The president and chief executive officer of Valence Technology, Robert L. Kanode:

    “We’re very gratified that the eVito outperformed its competition in the challenge, which we hope will further raise awareness of the bright future Valence is enabling for electric fleets”

      Mercedes-Benz CLS

      Mercedes-Benz has officially announced the second generation of its coupe’s four-door CLS. Of course, the new CLS will be launched at the International Motor Show in Paris. “The new CLS is distinguished by the unique line of Mercedes design,” explains Professor Gorden Wagener, head of the Mercedes-Benz design. “Also this model is inspired by tradition refined sportiness and stylish, a feature of the Mercedes-Benz coupe sites.”
      Externally, the proportions remain the same as before: long hood, narrow windows and side windows without frames, ceiling rabatabi dynamic. As expected, the front design is similar to that of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Extended inlets and black grids also contributes to the car’s athletic appearance.
