Mitsubishi has delivered the first fleet vehicle orders of the Mitsubishi MiEV to search engine giant Google and car sharing service IGO CarSharing.
Mitsubishi sent the fleet i vehicles to Google’s Northern California headquarters, where the cars will be part of the search-engine giant’s GFleet of electric-drive vehicles. Other plug-in vehicles that are part of the car-sharing program are Honda Fit EVs, Chevrolet Volts and Nissan Leafs. Mitsubishi also sent i fleet vehicles to Chicago-based IGO CarSharing, a non-profit car-sharing service founded in 2002.
In February, the automaker, which debuted the model in the U.S. in November, reported sales of 44 i vehicles, up from 36 in January. The i, which can go about 62 miles on a single charge, is considered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as the country’s most fuel-efficient production vehicle, based on its miles-per-gallon-equivalent rating.
